Founder and director Dr. Meeno Schrader has worked in weather
around the world for more than 23 years. He began by working
extensively in his native Northern Germany, then in the USA, in New Zealand,
in Australia, in the Caribbean, in South Korea and in many areas of middle
and Southern Europe. Along with this comes a wealth of experience in the
area of marine weather, gained from logging over 40,000 nautical miles -
most of it as skipper.
Even as a student he was already trusted as a weather advisor for
international sailing events such as the Baltic Match Race 1986 or in
1988 as the advising Meteorologist and Oceanographer for the
German National Sailing Team in the Olympic Games in Pusan, South Korea.
Through these early experiences he had already come in contact with the
world`s best sailors.
Since 1995 Meeno Schrader has kept busy in various locations in and outside
of Germany, his last stint as a Media Meteorologist with Jörg Kachelmann
in Switzerland. There he developed his own personal style of presenting
weather in an entertaining and engaging way in front of the camera and
over the radio waves. In 1998 he returned to Northern Germany in order
to pursue his long-held desire to start his own weather advising company.
In the meantime Meeno Schrader established himself as one of the best
weather advisors in the world of sail racing. The worlds fastest and
most successful regatta sailors like Ellen MacArthur (recently with her
current world-record nonstop solo trip around the world
from Nov 2004 to Feb 2005), Roland Jordain and many others choose to be
advised by him.

In the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Meeno Schrader worked for both the German and
Canadian teams, who currently employ him for the preparations for Quingdao
in 2008. Additionally, he advises the "United Internet Team Germany" for the
America`s Cup 2007. Whether in the Sydney-Hobart Race,
the Star Boat World Championships in San Francisco,
the Daimler Chrysler North Atlantic Challenge,
the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, or the Kieler Woche;
Meeno Schrader is always in his element.
Almost as a side job, but one that asks for intense commitment and delivers
much enjoyment, he also presents his own daily weather forecast for the
northern Germany TV network, NDR (Norddeutschen Fernsehen).
Such a position is hardly something to forget when after over 1600
appearances Meeno Schrader now belongs among the most beloved media
meteorologists in Germany.
Meeno Schrader is supported in all of his many pursuits
by the engaged and qualified team of his WetterWelt company.
